Umulkher Harun Mohamed

Hon. Umulkher Harun Mohamed is a Kenyan Youth Member of Parliament and a dedicated advocate for youth rights, disability inclusion, and equitable access to education. She sponsored the Kenya Sign Language Bill to advance inclusion for children with disabilities and previously founded and led Kesho Alliance (TKA), growing it into a nationally recognized NGO partnering with institutions such as USIP, the European Union, and UNDP to drive impact in education, youth empowerment, peace, and security. In 2022, she served on Raila Odinga’s presidential campaign strategy team before her nomination to Parliament, where she continues championing human rights and inclusion. She leads the Youth Coalition on Peace and Security in Kenya, serves as focal point for the National Action Plan on Youth, Peace, and Security, and is an alumna of YALI and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, an Eisenhower Youth Leader (2018), a graduate of Alliance Girls High School, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, and is completing a Master’s in Public Policy at SOAS University of London.
