Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources of Republic of North Macedonia
Sanja Bozinovska is a distinguished energy executive currently serving as Minister of Energy, Mining, and Mineral Resources of the Republic of North Macedonia, a position she has held since June 2024. With a strong professional background spanning international energy markets and strategic policy development, she is widely regarded as one of the key figures driving the country’s energy transition and modernization agenda.
As Minister, Bozinovska is at the forefront of North Macedonia’s shift toward a more sustainable, secure, and diversified energy system. She leads a comprehensive reform process focused on reducing reliance on coal, accelerating the deployment of renewable energy sources, and aligning national policies with the European Union’s climate and energy framework. Her leadership has been instrumental in advancing major infrastructure and interconnection projects, strengthening regional energy cooperation, and unlocking investments in clean energy and innovation.
A central pillar of her ministerial work is the implementation of a Just Energy Transition, ensuring that the decarbonization process is both economically viable and socially inclusive. Prior to entering public office, Bozinovska built a distinguished career in the private sector, with two decades of experience working for multinational energy companies across Europe. Her expertise covers energy investments, strategic planning in emerging markets, and the development of cross-border energy initiatives. She has played a key role in shaping regional strategies aimed at enhancing cooperation, resilience, and sustainability in the energy sector.
In addition to her corporate career, she has spent several years as an independent energy consultant, advising governments, companies, and other stakeholders on navigating complex energy challenges and adapting to a rapidly evolving global energy landscape. Her work has been characterized by a strong focus on innovation, market integration, and long-term strategic planning.
Bozinovska holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Anglo-American University in Prague and a Master’s degree in International Business from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. Her academic training has provided a solid foundation for her expertise in global markets, economic development, and energy policy.
Alongside her executive and governmental responsibilities, she has also been engaged in political and policy development processes, contributing to the shaping of national energy strategies and reform agendas.
