Shaista Pervaiz Malik, Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan
Ms. Shaista Pervaiz Malik, born on October 20, 1950, is a seasoned Pakistani politician affiliated with the Pakistan Muslim League (N). She holds an M.Sc. in Home Economics and has been an influential member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, serving across multiple tenures. Her political career began in 2013 when she was elected to the National Assembly on a reserved seat for women from Punjab. She was re-elected in 2018 on a reserved seat and later vacated it in October 2021 to contest the NA-133 by-election, where she successfully represented Lahore-XI from December 2021 to August 2023, succeeding her late husband, Muhammad Pervaiz Malik. Known for her dedication to public service, Ms. Malik has actively contributed to legislative processes, championing women’s empowerment, education, and socio-economic development.
Recently, she participated in the 7th Annual Reykjavik Global Forum – Women Leaders, held from November 11–12, 2024, in Iceland, where she engaged with global leaders on advancing gender equality and fostering women’s leadership. Residing in Lahore and Islamabad, she continues to be a prominent figure in her party and remains committed to advancing the vision of the Pakistan Muslim League (N).
