On 13 February 2026, Women Political Leaders (WPL), together with the Minister of Defence of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, convenes a private roundtable for women Ministers of Defence and senior women leaders engaged in the WPS agenda on the margins of the Munich Security Conference 2026.
The 25th anniversary of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000) on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) has moved the global discussion from reaffirmation to actions. 25 years after its unanimous adoption, implementation of UNSCR 1325 is lagging behind. Collectively, Member States, international organisations as well as other stakeholders must translate their commitments into concrete measures. The closed-door exchange brings together senior leaders to reflect on advancing the Women, Peace and Security agenda within contemporary defence and security contexts, contributing to forward-looking dialogue on international security.
