Åse Kristin Ask Bakke, Member of Parliament for Møre og Romsdal

«I am very happy to join the WPL network. In an international context, Norway has come a long way when it comes to gender equality. However, we still have a long way to go reach gender equality in several fields of society, like education and work. I am especially engaged in children and young people. I believe that we must address gender equality issues early on, to create equal rights and opportunities for all girls and boys. We know very well that gender equality does not come by itself, it happens through action.”

 

 

Bio: Åse Kristin Ask Bakke is a member of the Standing Committee on Family and Cultural Affairs at the Storting. The committee’s responsibilities are, among others, matters relating to families, children and young people, and gender equality.
