When trust in institutions is being tested and technology is redefining how societies function, the defining question is: what kind of leaders will shape the world ahead?
Such questions lie at the heart of the next chapter for WPL.
The WPL Summit has travelled across the globe, bringing together women political leaders in cities including Brussels, Kigali, Addis Ababa, Mexico City, Amman, Reykjavík, Vilnius, Tokyo, Athens, and Podgorica. Each Summit has reflected WPL’s commitment to convening leaders across regions, political systems, and cultures to exchange experiences and shape solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.
Building on this legacy, WPL is launching a new chapter. Beginning in June 2027, Brussels is envisioned to become the permanent home of the annual WPL Summit.
As one of the world’s leading centres of diplomacy, democratic governance, and international cooperation, Brussels offers a unique setting for a permanent global platform on political leadership. Anchoring the Summit in Brussels reflects geopolitical significance and WPL’s ambition to establish an enduring space where leaders can engage in trusted dialogue, strengthen partnerships, and contribute to shaping the global agenda.
The 2027 WPL Summit will be developed through a collaborative process involving WPL leadership, WPL Ambassadors, Belgian institutions, and international partners. Save the date for 8.-10. June 2027!
