Context & Purpose:
At a time of escalating geopolitical friction, social fragmentation, and rapid technological transformation, trust in public institutions and political leadership is in jeopardy. Yet trust remains the foundation of social cohesion, functional governance, and sustained progress.
The WPL Summit 2025, co-hosted with the Parliament of Montenegro, will convene women political leaders from across the globe to exchange insights and shape solutions under the unifying theme: “Future Positive: Building Trust, Driving Progress.” The WPL Summit provides a dynamic platform to examine how ethical leadership, strategic diplomacy, and inclusive governance can chart a credible course forward in turbulent times.
This will be the first WPL Summit held in the Balkans, a region that has experienced both division and reconciliation, and continues to play an active role in international cooperation and peacebuilding. Montenegro’s democratic journey and international engagement offer a compelling backdrop for dialogue on rebuilding credibility and fostering institutional resilience.
By bringing together women in public leadership from every region of the world, the WPL Summit 2025 reaffirms a collective commitment to leadership that builds trust and drives progress across borders, generations, and systems of governance.
