Doina Gherman: “I am the Chairwoman of the PAS Women’s Organization, which allows me to do my part in empowering women.
To my mind, we are all born equal and we all deserve equal opportunities, both men and women. I am proud to be among the co-authors of the draft law, which introduced the double quota system in 2019. As a result, 40 women entered the current Parliament – a record number for our country.
It’s my firm belief that women have the right to live a life free of violence. That is why, I actively promoted the ratification of the Istanbul Convention, which finally became a reality in October 2021.”
