Aigul Kuspan, Member and Chairwoman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security of the House of Representatives: “For me, as a woman, the topic of protecting women’s rights and promoting gender equality is very close to my heart. Women and girls are key agents of development and change. Achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls is vital to building fair, prosperous and peaceful societies everywhere.
Over the years of independence, Kazakhstan has made significant progress in protecting women’s rights and promoting gender equality. As WPL Ambassador for Kazakhstan I pledge to continue supporting greater representation of women in decision-making, and to amplify women’s voice. I am ready to cooperate with WPL and its Ambassadors to increase the impact of women in politics and to actively participate in WPL projects and initiatives.
