On International Women’s Day 2021, Women Political Leaders (WPL) and Kantar invite you to join a high-level discussion with political leaders and decision-makers, who will reflect on the evidence presented by the Reykjavík Index for Leadership 2020-2021 and look at tangible ways to accelerate the journey towards equality. This high-level discussion will be between James Bell, VP Global Strategy, Pew Research Center, Marilou McPhedran, Member of the Senate, Canada, Michelle Harrison, Global CEO, Kantar Public, and Sylvia Kasanga, Senator, Kenya.
The Reykjavik Index for Leadership was launched by WPL and Kantar in 2018 to measure perceptions of equality for women and men in leadership. The most recent findings show that society has not become more progressive in how it views women’s suitability for leadership roles, and that young people are reaching adulthood with entrenched gender prejudice. Guided by these findings, panelists will be exploring the type of interventions needed to prevent the deepening of such discriminations.
