Hon. Thorunn Egilsdóttir is a member of the Althing for the Northeast Constituency since 2013 and has served as Chair of the Progressive Party’s parliamentary group since 2016.

Since 2017, she has joined as a member of several committees: Member of the Constitutional and Supervisory Committee; Member of the Credentials Committee. In addition, she has been the Deputy Chair of the Icelandic delegation to the West Nordic Council since 2017.

In the past, she was elected as the Deputy Speaker of Althingi for the period from 2015 to 2019.
