The Women in Parliaments Global Forum (WIP) is delighted to announce that Ms Loren Legarda, Member of the Senate of the Philippines, will serve as a WIP Amassador for her country.
Senator Legarda was first elected in 1998, now on her third term as senator, she chairs the Committees on Finance, Climate Change, and Cultural Communities. In addition, Senator Legarda is also passionate and active on issues regarding gender equality and the rights of indigenous people. Before election, she worked as an award winning journalist in the Philippines.
