Fiona O’Loughlin
Member of the Seanad Éireann (Senate)
Senator Fiona O’Loughlin has been a teacher, Mayor, Community Activist, County Councillor, Teachta Dála, and is now a Senator in the Irish Government. She worked full time with charitable organisations; People in Need and then Special Olympics before becoming a full-time politician. As a Member of the 32nd Dáil, Fiona was Chair of the Oireachtas Education and Skills Committee and Party spokesperson for Equality, Immigration, and Integration. As a Senator in the 33rd Dáil, Fiona is Spokesperson on Education, Vice President of the Fianna Fáil Party, and Deputy Chair of the Education Committee. Fiona has introduced 5 Bills in the Dáil and been involved in the formation of legislation to address social problems such as hate crimes, revenge pornography, domestic violence, and mental health. Fiona is very involved in her local communities supporting volunteers, arts and community groups and festivals, and local businesses.
