Women Political Leaders and Kantar Announce the Launch of The Reykjavik Index for Leadership.
12th November: London: Women Political Leaders (WPL), the global network of female politicians, and Kantar, the world’s leading data, insights and consulting company, today announce the upcoming launch of The Reykjavik Index for Leadership at the annual Women Leaders Global Forum.
The Reykjavik Index for Leadership measures how people feel about women in power. As well as measuring the perceived legitimacy of male and female leadership in politics and professions, it also provides a measure of how men and women differ in their views and the extent to which gender is a non-issue when debating the suitability of individuals for positions of power.
The Index evaluates the G7 group of nations and 20 different industries and public professions, surveying gender equality attitudes of more than 10,000 men and women.
The Index will be formally launched, and initial results presented, at the Women Leaders Global Forum being held in Reykjavik, Iceland, from 26th to 28th November. The Index launch presentation from Dr Michelle Harrison, CEO, Kantar Public and Global Board Member of Kantar, will take place during the plenary session at 3:35pm (GMT), on 27th November, chaired by Hanna Birna Kristjánsdóttir, Chair of the Executive Board of WPL.
